Awesome stuff! What was the car that held first place? How did they even go about classing cars? Previous lap times? HP? Combination of mods?

The car that won the race was the white car at the beginning of the vid that I passed. There's no classification in Austrailian type of race. What happens is that they will ask you to give them a time that you think you'll run. They release you at the start of the race depending on what time you give them.

For example, the car that won the race gave a time of 1:58. The time that I gave was 1:48. There's some type of formula they use for each race depending on how many participants. But he was let out about 2mins and 20secs before I was.

If you "break out", meaning that you run faster than the time you gave, you'll get penalized 10secs per lap at the end. So, the object of giving a good time is very dependent on how consistent you are with your laps and you never run faster than your time. I was able to run a good race because my laps times for the entire race were close to the time I gave of 1:48.

There's no classification, because in theory, with these types of races, they release everyone at a certain time so that everyone will cross checkerd flag fairly close together.

I love these types of races because I get to work on my passing skills and wheel-to-wheel racing.

Hope I explained it in a way that it's not confusing.

Sup Dan!, thanks and yes its really fun. You don't have to have a fast car to win these races, just have to know what kind of lap time you r capable of putting down and run consistently.

Ah, I gotcha! So what happened to the RX-7? Was it brake issues? I noticed him limping.

What mods do you have to the car?

I'm not sure exactly what happened to him. He pulled into the garage after the race and we did not get a chance to talk.

Mods to my car:

- Flashpro tune
- Berk Test Pipe
- Challenge 76TA-RM Race Exhaust
- Challenge COMP+ Coilovers
- Voltex T2 Wing
- AP Racing BBK
- SOS Sport Clutch with 11 lb flywheel
- CCW wheels with street tires Advan Neova AD08s

Nice mods! All are very functional. What do you think of the SOS clutch vs stock?

Oh yeah, aren't you running the 285/30/18s and 295/30/18s?

Pedal feel is the same as OEM. The upgraded pressure plate lets it grab really well. It shudders a little bit getting out of first gear but nothing too crazy. I'm also using an AP1 clutch slave as well. It is so much better than the AP2 setup.

Yes I'm running 285/295 tires =)

Good to know. There are certainly a lot of clutch choices out there. Do you drive your car much on the street anymore or track only?
