How long autocrossing can a motor last before it needs to be rebuilt or replaced?

for example if a motor has 123,000 miles on it, laid down 209hp/141tq and only has one season of autocross but gets daily drived about 20,000 miles a year. Would it need a rebuild after another year or so because it would have 150,000 miles on it or would you just rag it out till the bitter end and find a long block from the for sale section?

I couldn't find any post on this topic exactly in a race situation. So I figured since alot of us ap1's are over 100k now it might be usefull to wieght our options.

short block from honda is 2713.29

anyone still autocrossing with over 150,000 miles on a motor?

Autocrossing barely puts a strain on the motor, IMO. I would not, and do not, worry about my motor.

Jim Reyenga has close to 180k miles on his motor and its still a great autoxer. He's put new bearings in it though.

You need a new engine dude, give me $6k and I'll ship one right out.

Come to a track day, then you wont worry about 2 minutes of autocrossing

My question as well. I've got 106,000 mi, put 25,000 a year on it, and do about 10 autox a year. But some of them I stay in first the whole time and bounce off the rev limiter. It's funny, when I do that, running 7000-9000rpm all around the track with a Skunk2 Racing exhaust without the silencers, I always get guys coming up to me saying it sounds great. To bad I don't have anything good to say about Skunk2's customer service.
