Buying a used C5 Vette is probably going to be a cheaper and more reliable way of getting a high HP track car. But have fun either way.

According to Edmunds.com, a 2002 Z06 should cost something in the mid-20s.

Guys, thanks for the suggestions on another car, but lets try to stay on topic here.

Topic? What topic? Not once in your request did you rule out "buy a high HP car". IMO, this falls under the general advice that it is always cheaper and easier to buy somebody else's prepped track or race car than it is to build your own.

Perhaps I should have been more specific, the vehicle used will be an AP2 Honda S2000. This wont be tracked everyday, or see a full race season, just the occational time attack car. Thanks!

How is the availability and price on one of those bad boys? Remember we are in America
20 b out of a jdm cosmo is cheaper than f20 ap1 is in aus but,
its getting harder to get because of all the drag recers spapping them up
n screwing massive power out of them.
not sure how hard it will be for u in the US
not only do u need the parts but good tuner, might be hard to find as well
this will make a masive effect on reliability. IMO
