Loss of power in long high-g turns
Stock motor and fuel delivery system. Several times, on the same 2 long, more aggressive turns, the car fell flat on it's face for 2-3 seconds at a time, mid-turn. Sounded and felt like fuel, not ignition.
Has anybody else run into this issue?
thanks,
Mark

If it were long left-handed turns, it is fuel starvation. It happens to me, even with 3/4-full tank. It happens on long, sweeping left-handed turns (almost U-turns), where I am pulling at least 1.0 lateral G for several seconds.

Thanks for the responses.
Oil is right at full.....
Since it happened during more than one session (but both were in the afternoon), I do not know what the fuel level was (simply was not paying attention )........................... perhaps somewhere around 1/2 full?
I have another track day today at the same facility (New Jersey Motorsports Park), but on a different course. I'll make sure to start out totally full, and re-fuel during lunch. This course is not as technical as which was run yesterday, so it won't exactly be a 'controlled experiment'.......
w.r.t right hand vs, left hand..............I know for sure that one of the 2 places on the track was a moderately long left hander................... can't remember when else on the track the problem showd itself - it was my first day on that track, so I had a lot going on in my mind.
CKIT: Briefly looked over your thread. Very interesting, but removed or rear subframe, to get the tank out, is realistically not an option right now - very worn out from wrenching.......... but bookmarked. thaks.

Yes, this is a common fuel starvation problem in long, high-G, left hand corners.... Depending on traction you will need a minimum of 5/8 of a tank or even more than 3/4 of a tank (had that at a Colorado Tour on concrete where there was a long left hand sweeper that was off-camber).
Solution: run about 3/4 of a tank minimum.....so you don't run lower than 5/8 at the end of the day....or bring along some extra fuel.

Well, ran a different track yesterday - all but 2 turns wer RIGHT handers. Fueled-up right before I got to the track....... But forgot to pay attention to (A) how much fuel was in the tank in the afternoon sessions when the starvation problem occurred, and (2) which turn(s) the problem occurred in. Happened only twice this time around.
Weird thing was that after my last session of the day, fuel gauge read 3/4 full. Thought that a bit odd for running 4 30 minute sessions................... Well, as soon as I got on the highway to head home, the gauge dropped down to 1/4 full . I've never seen this crap on the street.
So, next time, I wll fill-up after the morning sessions, regardless of what the gauge says.
