Default Koni DA Shock blowout!

Thought some of you would want to know....

http://roadraceautox.com/showthread.php?t=26660
"New KONI S2000 Double adjustable shocks Clearance ...$1,200/set
We have seven brand new sets of a 8242 series double adjustable shocks for Honda S2000s that we are offering first to the Sandbox at a $1,200.00 Clearance Price per car set plus freight while supplies last. MSRP List price for the set is $2,672 so this is 57% off list and far below wholesale price.

These are painted white and were developed for TC Kline Racing a few years ago when he was working with S2000s. They were factory built in Holland as part of a special limited production run. Now he is focussing on his core BMW market and I need to find a home for this remaining stock, preferably by the end of the year.

They are twin tube low pressure gas charged and valved more aggressively than our normal KONI Sports for the S2000. They are adjustable independently on the car for bump and rebound. Kline Racing's general valving theory is to make a valving that is performance streetable but can be used nicely for autocross and track events. I know that a number of SCCA T2 class cars have run these. They come without spring perches but are made to install either the factory S2000 spring perch on or use a 50mm ID threaded coil-over sleeve on top of a KONI circlip. Those sleeves and lower perches for 2.5 ID racing springs are available for an additional $40 per corner.

This is being offered to RRAX.com but please feel free to post links to other forums where people might be interested. Please contact KONI at 859-586-4100 Option 6 or info@koni-na.com. Visa, MC and AmEX are accepted. While supplies last."

You're right at that price with shipping.

Damn! This deal is almost three months too late.

Back in February, I asked TC Kline what the difference in valving was to the OTS Koni Yellows, and this was their response:

"On the double adjustable, the rebound starts slightly below the low setting that is on the single adjustable. It can also be increased to well beyond the firmest setting on the single adjustable. Maybe 1.5 times as much. The fixed compression setting on the singles is equal to setting #4+/- of 13 on the doubles."

EDIT: I should mention that I DID'T buy these because it would've been $1700 from TC Kline + another $600+ to get the valving where I wanted it. I ended up going with revalved SA Koni Yellows.

I just ordered a set. They said they still have 7 sets left after mine ships out... so not sure the accuracy of their initial estimate. If anyone else orders, ask them how many sets are left. If they say "7," we'll know that things are fishy.

And BTW, TC Kline was selling them for ~$1700 per set.

Just to put it in perspective that the "MSRP" price of $2600 is a little high.

I thought you had a set of bling bling shocks already? Are you gonna sell them?
