Default Kansas City in-car videos

Saturday's run (The run down the hill to the finish was an absolute blast!)
Corey: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FjAo46fShIM&fmt=18
Jeff: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=urhbTrP8KzU&fmt=18

Sunday's (Same section was awesome, but this time uphill right off the start)
Corey: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3LjXGFDK6kE&fmt=18
Jeff: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I6KUhoF2UOg&fmt=18

Neither Jeff nor I are really happy with our driving, but we had good results in spite of that! Results here. Jeff hit a cone on each of his fast runs, he would have passed me for 2nd had he missed either one. Or taken a dump before his runs...

Notice no shifting, that's rare! Hence the complaints about it being a speed maintenance course. The videos don't capture the elevation changes very well. Jeff ran his camera on the passenger side of the car, we'll try to make split-screen videos later.

Corey - it was good to meet you and Jeff. Talk about not being happy about driving...

It was blatantly obvious this weekend that I was still trying to drive this car like it is FWD. I was able to get away with it on Saturday because of in the increasing radius sweepers but got killed on Sunday because they all of a sudden turned into decreasing radii. I lost my full second on Tharpe in one section of the course.

Got some pointers from people watching from up on top of the hill and I also have some setup things to change before Topeka so I plan on being much more of a factor come two weeks.

No the course was not very high speed, parts of it were fun, parts of it sucked. I've really never seen so many cones hit at one event. There was one section that was fast and that was the eastern section up on top of the hill. On Saturday I was all over the limiter before even before the final gate before the finish (I probably could have had my helmet off before going through the lights if I wanted to try really hard). On Sunday that section kicked ass going up the hill, myself and Tharpe were just just barely popping the limiter before braking for the right hander.

See you guys in Toepicker!

It was great to meet you too, Nick. Nice wheels.

I don't know if ANYONE on site was really happy with their driving all weekend. It was just a really difficult course to drive at 100% - more frustrating than fun. LOTS of cones hit due to rapid transitions and very frequent key cones. I still had a blast, but I hope we get better courses in Topeka. A little more speed change would have gone a long way and made it a whole lot more fun for the prepared and mod cars too.

I noticed that, as a class, we did very well in PAX. Way to go us!

Tons more pictures by one of the Winnipeg guys here: http://solosnapshots.com/gallery/main.php?g2_itemId=847 (separated by day)

It was pretty wild looking at the data between Jeff and I. Both days we could have dropped around 1/2 a second if we took one half of my run and half of his. Too bad, so sad! Our different approaches to different sections were interesting, it looks like I'm a little faster in the "OMG, not sure I fit through there" sections and he's faster in the sweepers. Watch out when he gets in his own car for Nats.

Very true. I was watching my vids going, "HIT THE GAS, STUPID!!" through the fast transitions, and also noticed that I broke way too hard for the little kink after the slalom on Sunday. Hopefully I can get my courage back this weekend.
