Because heat builds up and chunks the non-shaved tread. If you start with the tread already shaved down, it doesn't get destroyed by heat and just wears normally.

Strange but true The non-shaved are much better in the wet though.

Are you planning on using these on the street and track? If so, then you might want to decide which is more important, and if getting caught in the rain on shaved tires is of concern.

As recommended by a good source: the best of both worlds would be a full-tread set for rain and a 4/32nd shaved set for dry.

How much faster are the shaved over the full-tread in the dry?

What sizes and more importantly what stiffness related to stock are those bars?

I did a run in RatedS2K's car last weekend at Ft. Myers (auto-x), he has Cusco front and rear sways and unshaved victo's. My car has Saner on second setting and unshaved victo's and honestly, the difference is minimal. The added stiffness of the cusco's does not make up for the stiffness provided by the H&R springs on my car, however rated's car seemed more planted then one with stock sways (obviously).

Our conclusion was that the added stiffness by the cuscos does not make up for the loss of adjustablility of the Saner but in this case the handling difference was negligible.

What do you guys think about Redline Events www.redlinetrackevents.com ? $100 for the days event seems really cheap. Anyone been to their event? I'm thinking about going to their March 15th at the Streets at Willows Springs since I have Mondays off.

Thanks again

I'm not familiar with the group itself but the price is decent for Streets. If it's your first time on the track check into whether they offer instructors or not. Being on the track for the first time without an instructor is worthless.

I did an event with them on the big track at Willow. cthree, krazik and davepk were there too. They're a good group but I don't recall if they offer instructors. One of the guys who runs Redline is on this board as superkool so you might want to shoot him a PM or an email.

Trade in a Monday for a Friday and come join us at Buttonwillow on March 5th with SpeedVentures

Ok one last question,

I have a Spoon exhaust with the straight pipe (not on while on the street). Would I benefit any by using it on the track?

Maybe I should check about it throwing a CEL first....
