How much $$$$ to get an S2000 ready for a track.
I'm not even talking about track tires or wheels. How much mods are really necessary to get ready for a track. I'm think front and rear sway bars, maybe suspension, straight exhaust. Is any tranny work necessary? I'm trying to stay within a budget so I'm not talking about cosmetic stuff.

You guys crack me up .
Seriously, what krazik said is it - upgraded pads (like Porterfield R4S or Panther +) combined with high performance brake fluid is all you need for your first few track events.
Krisko - where do you live in Florida? Hope to see you at one of our track events soon!

Here's my take on what's needed at what stage:
first track event or two - nothing for the car; instruction for the dirver
after that - brake fluid and pads; alignment; more instruction
getting faster - R compound tires; brake ducts; more instruction
eventually - suspension tuning
competing (time trials) - remove weight; add power; aftermarket brake upgrades?
somewhere in there you might consider a roll bar/seats/harnesses.

w/ ted.
I was just keeping it simple. If the track is heavy on the brakes its easy for even the track newbie to cook them.
A brain bucket is also required, but I figured that was a given.
