Default Hoosier R6 lifetime/wear?

how many session/heat cycles should I expect before the performance drops off and how many total?

I felt like they had 2-3 good laps after a warmup then they dropped off a bit I was running 32psi cold, 40hot.

I'm wondering if you do a warmup, one 80% lap then realy give them hell for one lap would be the best way to get the fastest time out of them?

I can't say much about r6/a6 on a s2000 but I have used them on a gt3 for a bit. Did you "scrub" them in? As in do a few easy laps to get them to temp then let cool all the way down when brand new? I used to run the old R6 at 39ish hot. I have been told the new ones like low to mid 30's. This helped my times and grip. I switched to A6 as they are almost ready to use after 1 lap and they don't wear any quicker. I have run them all the way to cords and still was pulling good lap times.

Don't scrub, they're fastest when new. 1 warmup lap and go. I ran mine at 32 hot (285/30)

I could make 2 sets last me a whole season but they lost maybe .5-1sec after 3-4 sessions

do you notice they get a bit slower after 3-4laps ?
I'm wondering if I'm running them to hot, 32 psi hot seems very low

The R6 starts to loose its life after 9 good heat cycles. After that you'll probably start to notice a lot more sliding going on. You need to get a tire temp probe and check the rubber right after a session to see what part of the tire is getting the hottest. Should always me about 10% hotter on the inside and then consistent the rest of the way out.

No, they lose some grip over the duration of a 30 minute race. Which the goodyear's I've been running don't do nearly as much.

As for pressure, it is low for a street tire, but normal for a slick which the r6s have a lot more in common w/ a slick than a street tire. I've been running the tires for years at 32hot.

hey If I go out and pull up in the pits to take readings etc and then go back out before the tires realy cool will that be counted as one heat cycle?

rather than doing a session, taking readings, letting it sit 40mins then going back out?

what size would you run if you were going to use these on stock AP2 V1's?

I laughed when you said that, I noticed the same thing on the A6's, though I've just used them for Autox (have some local sites here that are pretty high speed and get these suckers up to temp quickly). Around ~80 runs, roughly 9-10 events/ heat cycles I noticed a big decrease in grip. They aren't totally terrible yet, but getting there. The fact that track/ambient temps have been going down with the changing of the seasons also isn't helping matters, especially when this keeps the tires cooler over a run, and cools them down much faster in between runs.

My .02.
