High mileage track s2000 maintenance?
My car is at 90K miles, and I'm wondering what are some maintenance items I should be doing as far as preventive care and what should i wait for?
I have the service manual and there are a few things itemized, which I will get to. So far i've done the following (as of a month ago at 90k miles - except where noted otherwise)
-fluids (oil, trans, diff, brake/clutch, coolant)
-thermostat
-air filters
-spark plugs
-valve adjustment
-clutch MC (done at 60k)
Planning to do within the next 10k miles
-motor and transmission mounts
-serpentine belt and accessory belts
-brake-lines (I replaced them when i first got the car at 40k miles)
And finally, a suggested item:
-timing chain (the actual chain itself, not the TCT - i replaced that at 60k)
I've read numerous opinions on the timing chain. Is it a must do item at 100k miles? what are people's experience with this?
Finally, as I get around to it:
Bushings - i'll eventually change everything on all 8 control arms (going to go with rubber/polyurethane - no sphericals. it's still a street car).
Are there any other maintenance items I might be missing or are a suggested? What's everyone's experience with this? Around 100K miles seems to be the magical mark where everything starts going wrong with cars...
Thanks

90k on an 06+ is something I would just drive. From what I've seen you've got at least another 20-30 before you really need to consider going as crazy as you want. You don't track the car often enough to warrant bushing replacement etc.

Thanks. I checked the bushings, and they all look fine - it's pretty low on my list of priorities. Realistically, it's probably something like 2 years out .
The motor/trans mounts I'd like to do, though.
However, the biggest item is the Timing Chain. What do you think about that one? The Honda service manual recommends replacement at 100K miles.
I know for sure, i want to do the serpentine belt and all other accessory belts. Or is that over board too?
I'm hoping next year will be a much better tracking year for me. I'll finally be done with this grad program.

It seems Honda's are sensitive to fluid degradation. That's the most critical, change all the fluids.
That aside, you may want to look into the valve adjustment. I am going to do mine at 23k. Only because I will inspect the valve retainers (AP1) so while I am there might as well do the valve adjustment.
FYI, I did the whole WP, T-belt job on my Ridgeline with 140k. The old T-belt, water pump and thermostat looked and felt brand new.
Honda OEM parts are pretty robust.

I am @ 140k and I have done brake calipers, wheel bearings, diff mounts, valve adjustment, end links, sway bar bushings, TCT, belt bearings, and plugs. Previous owner did bushings, shocks, and top.
Before the season I will be rechecking the valves (it is easy enough), lower temp fan switch, sending the injectors for cleaning, and coolant flush. I am pretty anal about my fluids.
I am considering timing correction gear and now thermostat since you mentioned it.
