Heat Cycling a Street Tire

Heat Cycling a Street Tire
I am about to purchase my first set of competitive tires (255/40r17 RS3's) and I am debating whether or not the heat cycling will be worth the extra $60 or whether they will wear that much faster without proper heat cycling. What are your opinions on this? I do high speed autocross once or twice a month and hpde's as well.

Complete waste of money to pay to heat cycle an R-S3 IMO. Just throw them on, scrub them in and go. If you daily drive your car they will see at least a few smaller heat cycles before it sees any track time.

I was considering having this done to my next set of RS-3s but had to do more research before I decided. I do HPDE only and wear out the tires from heat cycling before I wear out their tread. My case is probably unique though, I live 35 miles from the track and only drive it to and from. I no longer do any street drivings other than trips to the gas station or bedding in brake pads.

RS3s have a pretty soft sidewall and will need upwards of -3 degrees of camber depending on your suspension setup and driving ability. I maxed my front adjusters out at -1.8 and rears are -2.8. Tires have always been set to ~ 40 psi HOT to try to resist excess wear on the outer shoulders. Even after rotating them front to rear between every track day (4 total = 8 hours of track time) they look like this:

Just got them flipped and I expect another 4 or 5 days out of them.
Hot pressures depend largely on your setup. Many of the fast guys seem to like 36-38 hot but they're also running -3 or more degrees of camber. For my setup I found 40 psi to feel faster but this wasn't backed up by a stopwatch.
