Yeah, after the wreck in 2016 it's been a long road back for myriad reasons. that was racecar v1. Have some great pics from cutting the chassis apart. Will post those in a few weeks.
Brief history:
Now I have 2 S2k racecars, v3 and v4. Attended a few track days in v4 and it runs great. Definitely the heaviest but it has better data collection and a more robust oiling system (cooler + accusump).
v3 is getting close but I've been stymied for the last few months because the power steering doesn't work. Grrr... Will most likely sell v4 once after a proper track test of v3.
Doing misc track days and regional races this year.
Brief history:
- v2: Bought an AP1 chassis in 2017 and had a cage put in but didn't like the way it turned out and sold that one last summer. That took 1.5 years and wasted hundreds of hours. Sigh...
- v3: Next bought a stripped and soda-blasted AP1 chassis in early 2019 and had TCDesign put a proper cage in it. By Feb 2020 had the motor rebuilt and running but still needed bodywork and misc fabwork done.
- v4: Really wanted to attend SCCA Runoffs 2020 in Road America so bought a 4th racecar, this time ready-to-drive (also with a TCDesign cage). But didn't do that or any other races due to COVID (I'm at high risk for health reasons).
