Default Have you done a gear swap?

Does anybody have a set of stock 4.10 differential gears sitting around? I'd like to buy them if they're in good shape. Please PM me.

you can't re-use 4.10 gears (like if someonme put in rick's 4.57's and has their old 4.10's laying around somewhere). Because, the 4.10 ring + pinion gears have worn into each other, and when you put them in your diff, they won't mate up correctly. You can go to a mazda dealer and get 4.10's from a 94-97 miata, they are exactly the same as what the S2k uses.

Actually you can reuse them. But the installer must take care to reinstall them correctly.

As long as the original gears were set up properly to start with, you can re-use them. (never seen a stock S with an inproperly set-up Rear diff)

My car has had more miles on it's diff/gears after I re-built it with a Comptech housing than it had before.
