Hard dog roll bar - adding lowered harness bar
I've found a hard dog roll bar at a nearby craigslist for $350. It has a welded diagonal and a welded harness bar. I'm looking for the lowered harness bar though. Would it be worth it to buy it then just have a lowered harness bar put in by a local shop? Would cutting out the existing harness bar be a bad idea?

You should be able to have a lowered bar installed pretty easily. I'd just leave the higher bar in place, it will provide extra support. Measure the current harness bar and use the same size so it looks factory. You can have it fitted either before or after the bar is installed. With the top down or hard top off access for fitting and welding is pretty good.

isn't a welded harness bar the same as the lower harness bar? the bolt-in harness bar is the one that is too high.
or do you want to go even lower than what hard dog offers?

I think there's 3 options. Removable (too high), welded (too high), and lowered (welded and right height).
