Default Hard Dog roll bar...

Any reason why the hard dog roll bars wouldnt work for my 08 cr, the only thing I can think of is that I might have to remove the CR chassis brace. I did a search but didnt find much. Any info would be great.

The Hard dog bar is seriously compromised in order to work within the constraints of the softtop. It's a good solution inside that constraint, but since you don't have a softtop, I strongly recommend having something custom-fabbed instead. With a custom bar you can take advantage of the lack of the soft top.

The bar itself could make up for any stiffness lost by removing braces, so I wouldn't worry too much about that.

Thanks Mike, but the whole reason that the Hard Dog is appealing is because It's relatively cheap. But physically it'll work with my 08? What do you mean by compromised in order to work with the soft top?

Correct me if I'm wrong but it should be Nasa and scca legal for track days and stuff right?

Okay gotcha, well its still my daily driver but I'd like to track it every once in a while. My problem is that in order to track my car at Barber Motorports park I need a roll bar, I figured that I would just go for the cheapest one I could find that was legit in a sense that it was a funtional roll bar, unlike cusco etc.

Go with the HardDog, it's solid I would recommend opting for the lower harness bar mounting point if you have a light of sight for the harness belts to be run rearward, if not, no biggie.

Keep in mind that adding a roll bar should also come with adding a harness and proper race/track seat

Another thing to consider, the HD bar actually is a pain to install. If you do it your self than it is a cheaper solution, However if you take it in to a shop it will most likely cost less to get a custom one built. Bad news is a custom bar is going to be a permanent (for the most part) solution whereas, the HD can be removed and the stock hoops and trim can be reinstalled in order to retain the cars street value.

I'll have a custom bar built in my own S2000 some time next month..
