I presume the diagonal bar is there for extra strength and to pass SCCA regulations? Any other reason to opt for a diagonal bar? I would like to keep my secret compartment, and save $$$.

yes correct the diag is for strength and it adds a fair bit. But the sport bar will still be an improvement over stock.

The diagonal is in the way of the center console door, the harness bar is in the way of the secret compartment.

-I'll- run the 2pc bar and remove the door on my center console. That way I can still chuck stuff in it, pop the trunk and access my secret compartment.

All 3 bars have a removeable harness bar.

Well yeah. It provides almost all of the side loading strength of the bar. Without it the bar is a lot weaker.

Is it different than the ELDA? With the ELDA, according to the pictures I have seen, the diagonal is in the way of the secret compartment but the center console door still opens. It also costs passenger seat travel.

Hmm...

Also would a shop like TC design be able to put in a full roll cage around this roll bar with minimal work if i were to go down that line ?

no nor would you want to. this bar has compromises in the design to accommodate the rag top. Namely the diagonals going all the way to the top.

You would want to build a cage from different pcs.

I'm guessing you'd want the diagonals to go to the shock towers huh?

Well I guess I could always paint it Crushco blue and sell it to all the ricers here once I go JDM RACER...

How long is this pre-order going to be around?

He meant that you would want them to go all the way to the top of the bar rather than intercept it partway up the main risers.

But it's also true that you would want them to touch down inside the shock towers on the main structural beam rather than just in front of the shock towers.

that and you want them to go to the top of the main hoop for maximum strength.

Till we start to ship.
