why do you need the stock hoops? - you got a rollbar, a bucket and harnesses would only make more sense.

Because I still drive the car on the street and I don't want 1/2 the interior missing.

The GFL folks keep saying that the one difference in the design is that the plates where the down tubes land are thinner. What you are seeing here might be the result of that. It could have changed the bar downtube angle just enough....

I just got my hands on a copy of the install DVD from ELDA. (Thanks yakrat) After briefly viewing the rollhoop cutting a fitting, there is a definite difference between the 2 bars.

If you plan on installing the stock rollhoops DO NOT INSTALL this bar. Cutting the seat belt mount is not a safe option.

I'm removing mine tommorow so I can drive the car again.

What to do? What to do? Chris, with Bryan chiming in, I'm going to assume there isn't a chance that yours was just a messed-up assembly. Do you think there is any chance this could be the case?

I dunno. I've scoured the posted pics of the pre-production bars. SC Highlander's bar has had the seat belt brackets cut and bent.

Maxrev's bar doesn't have the seatbelt archors bolted down, I don't know if the stock hoops are attached.

I will check with CrazyCracker(Maryland). He has an original.

Here's Yakrat's car, with an original. I baby sat this car for 8 months during a engine rebuild. I know the stock belt anchors where not cut.

Whelp, I was trying to hold onto the last bit of hope.

While I have absolutely nothing against Asura personally- we've communicated for probably over a year about sc'er stuff- had this bar been brought to market by any other company other than GFL, we would have ripped it so hard, it wouldn't have been funny. I do not feel bad in saying this as I have already expressed this same sentiment to Asura via PM a couple of weeks ago.

Very, very regretfully, I'm leaning towards returning the bar.
