I would like to share what another member suggested(it worked on his car, and he's not a left-coaster ).
The latch sits like so: \_
Use a vise and bend it it to this: |_
This seems to be a much better suggestion. Hope it works with this bar.

The latches are really hard material. You might have to to clamp them in a vise to do this, rather than on the car.

Hey! I dearly miss Arizona, my friend. The changing of seasons is grossly overrated! I do have to admit that the roads out here are better though as far as "twisties" are concerned.

I did say, "use a vise."

After scouring home depot, Lowes, and 3 autoparts stores looking for a suitable knob to replace the stock ones, I came up empty handed. I yanked the latches and figured I'd do more damage to try and bend them. So out came the cut off wheel and my problem is solved.
I then spent the next 3 hours cutting and fitting the drivers rollhoop. I still don't have it in

I'm having a bit of a problem getting the driver side stock rollhoop back in. The seatbelt anchor tab is hitting the down bad and not letting the roll hoop line up with the stock bolt holes. Anyone else run into this when reinstalling the stock hoops?
I've double checked to make sure the bar is centered in the car. It's within 2mm side to side. The stock seat belt anchor tab that is welded to the stock rollhoop hits the downbar. I've loosened all the bolts on the reinforcement the rollhoops bolt to, minimal play side to side. The new bar isn't bolted down snugly, just has the rear plates in not even finger tight. Shifting the roll bar to the driver side will just make the passenger side fit worse. I've been in contact with an original ELDA owner and his car has approx a fingers width between the seatbelt anchor and the downbar.
I know the plates on the bottom where changed with the new batch. Has anyone else had this problem? I saw SC Highlander's install at DBR, and he had stock hoops back in the car.
Please excuse the crappy pics:

I'm in no hurry to cut and bend the seat belt anchor. Hardtop latches is one thing. Not the Belt anchor.
If this is a design feature I'm now officially disapointed. The stock rollhoops are supposed to fit
