That is a prototype bar. We could offer them welded -or- removable, but the ones we're planning selling are were going to be removable. If you'd rathre have welded its an option. We just didn't want to sell 4 types of bars.

At what point would we indicate that we would like the harness bar welded as well? I pre-ordered a hardcore roll bar and would prefer to have the harness bar welded in.

This is my personal favorite and original idea for the Spec S2000 Roll bar. It is inspired by those true die-hard Time Attack!!! and HPDE time-trial racers who want the Maximum functionality* with the greatest simplicity of design.**

We wanted to offer the hardcore bar as a compromise solution that maintains secret compartment access.

*This bar will also be the most structurally rigid of all since it's indeed 100% welded.
**It will also be the lightest as the removeable bars weigh more than the welded in
equivalents.

If anyone here would like the harness bar welded in, select that option when you order the final bar.
N.B. *You will have restricted secret compartment access*

As for the above bar, it is already spoken for and will be crushing competition at a racetrack near you very soon...
If you want a bar just like the one you see in the picture, I can make it happen for you

I must say, that the welded hardcore bar is by far my peronsal favorite. The removable diagional is definitely heavier than I expected due to the solid machined ends. If I did it again, I'd go for the hardcore version, no doubt about it.

Brian, any guestimate on how much heavier?

I'd guess at least 5 pounds, but no more than 10. But that's purely a guess. I picked up the diagonal for my bar and said, "Damn, that's heavier than I expected." Of course, almost all of the weight is in the machined connectors in the ends.

Thanks. Even though I'm no longer sc'd, I can live with that.

When you place the order for the final bar (pay in full before shipping) you can chose which type you want.
