I put one of the curved 3m mounts on the top of the glove box. It's been there for a year in SFL heat with no issues.

other options are use the suction cup mount on the windshield or body (make sure you use it properly so it doesn't fly off - oops) or attach it with a bunch of zip ties to the tow hook

The suction won't fail unless it's not on a smooth surface that won't flex. I had my hd fall off on Sebring last year when it was on my rear bumper. It was ran over and still works great lol.

The Modifry mount works fine for me. I have the normal height version, but I've seen suggestions here to use the lower height one.

you can use the modify mount but i also bought the gopro tripod attachment so i don't use the adhesive on it.

you can also suction cup to the windshield...

outside, honestly, i was not that impressed with the amount of wind noise i had ... i'm going to gingerman next month and still debating on what to do about the camera... i was really disappointed with how much windnoise it generated when it was mounted outside
