Like diff mounts and rear sway bar brackets?
Also: safety wire the oil pump nut, many people have had them back out. I'm actually having that done this week along with weld-in oilpan baffles.
Turner or VAC motorsports have all these reinforcement parts btw.

With a proper cage and without dealing with the softtop (hardtop bolted on) or the stock interior and roll hoops and with a steering wheel hub, splined disconnect and a racing seat you will have WAY more than enough room. It will also be fast as hell and wicked fun to drive
No reenforcement necessary

I think the reason the E36s need reinforcement is really their age.
IMHO, haved tracked both for several years, the S2000 is more fun on track.
Ex 95 M3 owner; sold originally to get a 993 but ended up getting a Z06.

I haven't seen -that- many in the $5k range, even less sub $5k. They still aren't that common at that price. Especially when you're lucky enuf to only have to replace the engine (in the case of the san diego one) usually a 5 or sub 5k s2k is gonna need a lot of work. But you can probably find a ~10-12k salvaged titled one that was been all repaired. You sell the interior for about $2k and go from there.
There is a pretty steady supply of inexpensive (sub 16k) s2ks on craigslist in the bay area.
