yeah I"m not super worried because I am doing the test and tune before hand, so by the time that's over I should be able to get the tires cleaned up. So right now I'm mostly just dealing with the prospective problem of not being able to really use the test and tune at all, and I've got some stuff to test.

When I first bought my s2k they had shined the crap out of the tires, and I took it to an autocross the next day. I figured whatever I"ll just wear it off after the 1st run. The problem is it takes a while because you get a little further, then it slips, then you get a little further, then it slips again, so it takes a lot of turns to finally get to the point where you're cornering fully and it's all cleaned off.

Thanks

Austin, have you actually tried it? Maybe I'll go pick some of that up.

OK I just called Eagle One technical support and actually the guy was pretty knowledgeable. He said their A2Z wheel/tire cleaner should definitely take the tire shine off. He also said with some elbow grease just some normal dishwashing soap should do it. So I'll go ahead and pick up some of the Eagle One stuff, I need some wheel cleaner anyways.

Thanks!

It's going to be gone in four practice runs anyway IMO.

Jon, I've been using it for a few years, it's incredible IMO. The first time you use it you'll be surprised how much dirt comes off.

Just did it. Looks like it's good! We'll see tomorrow but for now, crisis averted

yeah, same thing happened to me once. I tried both rubbing alcohol and acetone. Still had a little left on it.

So, I found a deserted parking lot and did about 15 laps of skidpad testing in both directions.

I dont mean to sound like a dick but this is the strangest thread I have seen here in a while.

by your second lap it should be gone and I would suspect in the first few turns.

Haha....actually, depending on what they use, it can last several laps. Remember, the crap they use isn't just Armor All anymore. It's designed to last a really long time.
