Seems a little steep, but I suppose it depends on exactly what it includes.

Try contacting L-CON. I was doing some "shopping" around and e-mailed them.

I e-mailed L-Con and got this:
--------------------------------------------------------
A basic roll cage with X doors and rear X will run you $2200-2800 depending on amount of prep needed etc. That is out of 1.75 DOM tig welded.

Thanks,

I agree that seems hi. But a full comp cage could extend from the front inside the engine bay thru the fire wall back to the rear shock towers w Nascar bars and all kinds of neat stuff. The doors are another deal. If they completely gut them then you have to have a different way to open and close them. Are you sure you want to remove the side bar in your door? Its already there and provides some safety. Look at at other cages that these guys have done. Are they painted? Look at Spec miata cages--if thats what you want--then $4500 is too much. Just some stuff to ponder before you pay too much. But dont cheap out on the cage either--you will regret that too. Not sure you need to alter the roof. I am ^ft and have plenty of room. You have to lower you seat as low as possible. Taitec seat rails worked in my car. Thats another $500 for 2 rails.

Louie does great work. He does a lot of the Apex Drift cars and various other race cars. Cool guy to add on top.

I see you're in CA so I can't name any in your area. However, here is a link to a map done by a member of NASA, http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=...8,69.169922&z=4. You will find several in CA to call for quotes and refrences. Hope this helps you.

I have taitec rails but the seats I am running (Sparco Evo) dont sit completely down on the lowest setting. The base of the seat is a bit wide.

I will be looking at some Recaro Pro which are a bit narrower.

wait. It can or can not be steep. If the guy is tig'ing the cage then its not unreasonable. It probably takes 3x as long to tig a cage as it does to mig one. Mig can just be strong.

Talk to TC Design, he's done a ton of s2k cages.

Also how prepped are you bringing him the car? There can be a fair amount of labor involved in removing all the interior crap.

If you're in cali you might as well have Tony C. do it. I would research exactly what you want done, so you don't regret it later.
