Default fuel starvation

whats the easiest fix for fuel starvation in long left handers. other than filling up my tank and avoiding long left handers. Is there a fix for the fuel pickup or do you need to put in foam? any other ideas?

It seems like you would need a baffled fuel tank or a fuel cell. Perhaps adding a small reservoir tank between the main tank and the engine.

Being in a stock class, my only option is to run 3/4 tank of gas on high-grip sites.

I believe Full Race sells a fuel sump.

I dont plan to put in a different fuel cell. I guess foam in the tank will prevent fuel sloshing.

Wouldn't you have to worry about degradation of the foam and it potentially clogging the filter or getting sucks through the tiny filter?

Anyone even look at Full Race's sump? OK here's another lead - page 43 in Summit Racing Equipment Nov-Dec 06 catalog. Competition Engineering fuel sump kit. Welds into the lowest rearmost corner of the fuel tank to maintain maximum sution head to feed pump. It even comes with directions on how to put baffles in the tank as well. These sump kits are designed for drag racing, and use an external fuel pump. Of course, that means replacing the stock intank pump and new plumbing.

You should probably contact a racing fabricator like Go Fast Labs or TC Design to see if they can help you out. They already sell a modified stock oil pan with welded in baffles and trap doors around the stock pickup location. I'm sure they could cut open your fuel tank, weld in baffles, maybe even add some foam or trap doors, then seal it back up.
