If your going to Barber you'll be needing an aftermarket Roll bar...

Yeah, I noticed (especially on turn 4, I think it is... the first left-hander after the skidpad) that most people were staying wider and then diving back in across the apex, whereas I was hugging it pretty tight all the way around. That's probably the biggest change I would try if I went back. I was pretty comfortable with most of my other lines, although I'm sure I could've moved them around a little and picked up some time (though I don't know how much). I definitely could've carried more speed through the back-side sweeper, but I was playing cautious since I knew I had to drive the car 800 miles back home.

Yeah, I just found out about that today. I guess I won't be driving the S2K at Barber after all. This sucks!

Instead, it looks like I'll be in either a turbo WRX or a BMW 325 (?) track car.

People have also been telling me horror stories about Barber charging large sums for going off track, tearing up sod, etc. Someone said they got charged for hitting some tires that are there to stop cars that loose it. They scuffed some paint on the tires and were charged for BRAND NEW tires to replace them. Someone else confirmed that Barber uses new tires for their barriers - not used.

Guess I'll just have to keep it on the road.

At the Ring during tourist driving, they charge about 50 EUR per metre of Armco you take out, and they normally come in 4m sections stacked 3 high (600 EUR per hit). If the crash is bad enough that they have to close the circuit to the public, you get a bill for 1300 EUR per hour of lost revenue...

Out of curiosity, what do your rear tires look like after a day at the track?

Not as bad. They are somewhat chewed up on the edges, but not nearly as bad as the fronts. My rear tires/tyres seem to wear more on the inside and it is worn more evenly across the tire.

Okay, I've got my TGPR in-car video finished. I only had room to store a small, low-res video, but you can check it out here.

Talladega Video

Please ignore the slight over-revving that is going on when downshifting for a couple of the corners. I saw it and it will be corrected IMMEDIATELY! I can't afford a blown engine! Waiting until later in the corner entry to downshift should take care of that.
