You may have thought of this already, but you could weld in some vertical suppports in the trunk that will meet up with the wing mounting brackets when the trunk is closed, so you will have a rock-solid support of the wing.

The open tubes have bolts in them. In the back they are the bolts for the rear subframe. On the trunk they are for the wing mounting brackets.

The tubes with the subframe bolts are actually 14" long, you only see the top 4". They extend down through the main frame beams to the bottom of the channel.
Ah, I didn't realize you were tieing directly to the subframe mount. I guessed the ones on the trunk involved the wing, but I didn't think about access to bolts.

There is no need for that. You could tow the car from the wing mounts It's 1.5" steel tubing and the trunk lid is not going anywhere. The bonus is that the trunk opens and the springs work just like normal supporting the lid when it's open. It was an idea stolen from British touring cars.

On second look I see your point. That lid won't flex at the mounts .

D00d, looks like you left off the strut tower brace for that thing? What about the x-brace? That thing's gonna flex on you.

Welder gone wild! . Dang, you Canadians know how to build a solid deathtrap! Impressive.
I have no experience with cage building, but why is it more massive than others I've seen?
