Default First time on a wet Sebring

My first time at Sebring with standing water and it didn't end well. I knew I should stay off the rumble strips when they're wet but I ended up falling back into my line which caused me to spin out around turn 9. Once I hit the grass it was like being on ice. Luckily the car got sideways and cut a lot of speed before impacting at the passenger rear then a 180 into the passenger front. The car was drive-able for the rest of the event and got me home safe and sound. Damaged the paint mostly and amazingly the WASP Composite track splitter survived but cracked internally. The exhaust is bent but other than that the damage is minimal considering I hit the metal barriers.

Not bad. You lucked out. It's all superficial and no frame damage. Grazing impacts? What did you make contact with? I know Sebring has lots of concrete...

Time to just cut up that rear bumper for better venting and less parachute drag effect. If there was anything holding you back before, it should be a no brainer now.

Edit: watched the video. Wow, that's some spin, just while going straight. Nuts! Looks like metal guard rails painted blue?

The combination of shifting into 4th and getting the front right tire on the yellow line made the car turn onto the rumble strip from there all the traction was on the opposite side and turned the car right into the grass. Felt a lot like snap oversteer but the wheel was nearly straight

Crazy spin wow, so unexpected! At the point where you were going backwards, if you turned your wheels to the right, do you think you would have avoided the wall?

Could have been a lot worse. Glad you're okay. What tires were you on?

Damn nick. Got lucky there. Could of been 10x worse. We're you on the new tires or the old RS-3's?

Your rear looks just like mine after I hit the wall at pbir a couple years back lol. Same side too.

C'mon man, right equipment for the job. You've seen continental touring races when the pros stay on slicks... carnage everywhere.

Safety first. Tires matter... a lot.

Glad to hear you are ok, car doesn't look bad. That angle was tough to watch at the end.
