redline, redline, redline.....i might have that time because i took out my seat, drained my washer fluid, and put a single exuast on my car. i'm a firm believer in taking weight off your car where you can bear it. i'm also at sea level, which might make a difference.

15.8!!!!! OUchhh You might want to stay away from that track for awhile! Better yet don't ever race anyone on the street..not even that old granny in 1982 VOLVO.

I ran at the track the week after I got my S and ran a 14.1, even at that I'm not bragging. My car was bone stock. Launch at 6000-7000 and shift around 8200-8400 after that the power drops big time. There is no point on bringing it any higher...unless you like the sound : ) This is according to most dyno charts I have seen.

Well, it is true that if you shift at 8400 you will be out of VTEC when you get into the next gear, and you don't want that. Even though hp and tq drop off around there, you will still want to keep going until 9000. That way when you shift, you'll be right it he sweet spot that is VTEC. You can test this by timing yourself at the strip. Make a few runs by shifting at your hp peak, and then make a few more runs shifting at 9 grand. You'll be faster shifting at 9000. That's one of the cool things about the Type R and the S2000. For example, in the Integra GSR, shfting at redline puts you out of VTEC when you get into the next gear. They fixed that 'problem' in my car and yours as well.
