First HPDE event
This will be my first HPDE event,
I was originally trying to use OEM fluid and Hawk HPS for this event. however, after reading couple of brake fading issues with these pads, I'm scared to use these pads. As for the brake fluid, I'll be using ATE Super Blue but I don't know what pads to get. After reading reviews, I'm considering: Porterfield R4 pads, Cobalt GT-Sport pads, and carbotech XP10/8, Hawk HP+. what would be the best choice?

A lot of it will depend on how aggressive of a driver you are.
If you are driving hard then race pads are in order.
Porterfield R4, Hawk HT10, Cobalt XR2, are all good choices. It's hard to go wrong with Hawk's,

I've run HP+ and XP8 in the S, they're both sufficient for my car/driving (stock '01, somewhat speedy driver). HP+ are cheaper, XP8 will give you a bit more margin. I used to run R4's on the Datsun, and they were fine as well, but IMO XP8's are better (I run XP10's on that car now). But it has been a while (like 8-10 years) since I ran R4's, they might be a different compound by now.
You probably read one or more of my posts on the HPS. Apparently others have gotten a track day out of them, but in my case they were absolutely useless, DANGEROUSLY so, from the first lap! Mighta been a bad batch, but still I wouldn't let my worst enemy/strongest competitor run 'em! You'd be better off on OEM pads! But you really want track pads. IMO, either HP+ or XP8 should do very well for you.

I agree that, unless you're a very unusual driver, you'll be fine your first day out there with an all-stock setup.
However....
If you're sure you're going to be doing more of this, getting proper pads (I recommend XP10/XP8) would make sense sooner rather than later, to save extreme wear and tear on your stockers.
If you live where it rains (and your screen name would suggest that you do), you'll also want to get a spare set of tires/wheels for track days early on in your "career," because you'll be chewing up your stock tires pretty fast (which seriously compromises their performance in the rain).
However....
