A big front bar, high-end shocks and race rubber all work to make the car more controllable... I'm sure the same applies to the '02. I think the changes are subtle enough that it really doesn't make a difference which year you go with. Our car is tuned for a slight push... when I get back into an S2000 with stock shocks it feels really loose to me... '02 or earlier. Some people like that loose condition (I have to admit, I prefer driving it that way - more smiles) but it's not the best way to have consistent times. If we can make our '01 handle this consistently, I'm sure you could do the same with an '02. I wouldn't let the balance of this car in stock form keep you from buying one.
