Ry, what happened to Go-Fast, and where do I get Cobalt pads from now?
gone, was shut down in Dec.

I'd get your cobalts directly from cobalt.

Ease on the brake to move that weight forward then get on them hard I'm sure you know that haha.

I drove some F2000's on Tuesday at the Bridgestone racing academy. Interestingly they do not teach left foot braking but insist on heal-toe downshifting and not to clutchless shift, although I was able to with ease a few times.

The cars I was driving were running 130hp which didn't seem as fast as I thought it would either.

Craig, thanks for your feedback on the Radical. Testing the aero limit in T5 at Phoenix with a wall and no run-off must take nerves . The mechanics of this car are very different than on the Radical. I also have only four gears but you change gear sets to match each track, and it's non-sequential non-synchro, so can mess up more easily. I don't recall the Radical well but this car's steering feels very heavy (only 1/4 turn to full lock from center). I forgot to mention that I have cockpit control of both front and rear swaybars and brake bias, but haven't tried them; and 3-way in-board shocks, adjustable front and rear wings etc.... too many things to adjust to ever get right. And I feel like I'm in a cocoon campared to the Radical. I think it would be fun running with your SR3; should be fairly well matched cars. The SR8 is of course much faster, but the guy driving the SR8 at SOW was just learning, so I was a few seconds faster.

Oh, in between sessions I drove a newbie's Elise, and it felt so spongy and vague floating all over.

Oh, you owe us a write up on your new GT3 .

Souinds and looks like this is an early van diemen with the Pinto (not the Zetec) engine and narrow street tires (for schools). I'm running 8" front/10" rear rims with slicks. My clutch is set up very high to use as a side-brace for the left foot once you are finished with the clutch to get out of the pit. So I'm feeling like a mermaid with both legs and feet snug together, with shoes almost rubbing when working the brake and gas.

Yeah it was a school, I was pretty impressed with the grip level compared to my S2000 on 245/275's V710's even these tiny wagon wheels did an awesome job on the F2000, although I was at the limit a few times with some tail out action.

Grip on slicks must be phenomenal.

Glad they weren't my cars, I hit 1st gear more than a few times going full throttle from redline in second OOPS!

That's an easy mistake to make, but one easily correctable...2-3 upshifts, always keep your thumb down (thus, palm out). You'll never miss one again.

I'd love a chance to drive an F2000 - I went from FF to FA. I've got to think the cost of running and maintaining an F2k would be much closer to the FF, but closer to the FA in terms of handling/performance. Good luck, Richard - if you're ever up at Sears Pt. I'm 20 min. north of there.

Richard, how much traveling would are you going to have to do to race this car? I'd love to get into something like this eventually, I just don't think there is much opportunity at any of the tracks near me.

Yours looks really good How often are you replacing tires?

Such was the case at Phoenix International Raceway banking. It is tighter and less banked than Fontucky, yet we were still able to flat it in 5th upshifting to 6th at the exit.
What kind of times did you put down at PIR? Let me know the next time you are going to be out this direction. I would love to see your car.
