Dunlop Direzza ZII

and tire temps aren't always the best indicator of performance, especially in something like autox where you are doing many different things at different corner phases. It's also totally course dependent. Sure on a skid pad, you might find that you can optimize loading via temperature analysis, and get good results, but if if this done at the cost of entry/exit stability (where the car may be using more of the top and bottom of the traction circle) you've could be giving up quite a bit of time and the ability to really move the car around during the more difficult phases of the corner.
Tire temps don't tell the whole story. On a properly balanced car, tire temps and tire pressures should come up equally all around. For example, a car that front end understeers will have higher tire temps in the front and pressure would come up faster as well than the rear. For a car that rear end understeers (on power understeer) the opposite happens. Tire pressure is a fine tune adjustment. There are other adjustments available that have a greater impact to the car's overall balance.

Im about to order some Dunlop ZIIs and I have stock ap2v1 rims. I was thinking that I would do 215/45/17 front 255/40/17 rear. Does anyone think another size combination that will offer a significant advantage?

Interesting, been running 225/45-17 with 255 rears. i am ready to write the check for another set of tires. Will the 235 fit on standard AP2-v1 7" and clear everything? I am running stock springs with Koni yellows with a big FSB.
I have a set of 17x 9- 63 but want to stay in BS using stock wheels and street tires, so the feed back for increasing the front would be great!
I mainly do do DE and for the past two years, due to weather, cold and wet, sleet and snow, I have left the stock tires on vs using the R comps.
Thanks

Aren't CR's 7.5" up front?
Not having followed the AX scene for years, I was amazed to see at one event, a CR with 295---17" Hoosier A6's on stock wheels. The car was at an event in Pelham, AL, husband wife team driving a NFR car. Would have never thought they would fit!
I really like a square set up. I have both 16" square on BFG R1 and 17" on Kuhmo XS.
For DD I do like a staggered set up for less steering effort.
The 235 is available in 40 or 45 , just looking for clarification and feedback.
I am trying to decide on the Rivals or ZII's, and as in most cases, best bang for the buck!
