Data logger mounting?
I am trying to find a decent mount for my data logger display unit. It uses the standard AMPS mount configuration. I have found a bunch of suction cup type mounts but I doubt NASA will allow that for HPDEs. Anyone have any recommendations? Thanks.

I hope there isn't a restriction on suction-cup type mounts. I believe they should be okay. I ordered what jlucas recommended:

Well, I ended up ordering the SR088-S:
http://www.arkon.com/xm_mount.php
It simply bolts under one of the passenger seat mount bolts and has a 15" flexible (but apparently VERY stiff) neck. So it is very secure and also easy to switch to other cars.
I got it for $17.

I found it distracting to try to view the display at the level of the radio. The actual datalogger itself should be on a firm level surface if you are to get accurate G-force data (and maybe other data?)

I glued velcro onto the carpet under the passenger seat and onto the back of the datalogger. That's where I stick the datalogger. (I probably will eventually drill some holes into the floor pan and hardmount the datalogger there.)
For the display, I took an old cardboard brake pad box and mounted the display to the box. Then I used the infamous blue painters tape to tape that to the dash, just to the left of the passenger airbag cover.
If I use enough tape, this is probably at least as secure as a suction cup mount, and there is no metal frame involved.
If/when I decide to modify the car for track use only, I figure I'll just drill into the dash somewhere and create a hard mount.
But having the display sit on top of the dash in the middle of the car seems to be about perfect. It's right at the corner of my eye, so I can look at it or not as I wish.

I can completely remove the "brain" unit and the display unit in around 10 seconds and just leave the wiring in place.
