Default Cusco Sway Bar

I've searched and searched but there is not one useful thread about this sway bar...

I'm looking at buying a Cusco Sway Bar soon but haven't heard much about them. The bar is $275 shipped. So I have a few questions.

1.) Is this a good bar? I don't feel like spending the $700 on the comptech when I can get a sway and an x brace and still have money left over...

2.) Is $275 a good price new?

I'll add more as I think of them

Can't find a single thread
If you've searched this forum with over 5 years of archived S2000 information and that's your result, draw your own conclusions.

I have the cusco bars front & rear. I think they work great. An antiroll bar is not exactly a highly technological piece of equipment. If you just want a front bar for auto-x then definitely spend the money for the comptech because it is adjustable and can go stiffer. As for price, I don't remember what I paid.

Not a great argument against a product. If he had found a number of threads giving the product a negative review, that would be one thing, but not finding *any* would just suggest that no one has given it a try so it would be an *unknown*.

Of course we all hate Cusco "cages" here so lets assume all of their products are bad.

i just bought mine from Gruppe-S for $235 shipped... (im in Riverview, by the way)

the 32mm Cusco bar is stiffer than stock... and they were recommended to me by a friend that tracks an S2K...

from my research its not as good as the $600+ adjustable sway bars at full stiff for auto-x...some of them also need custom end links and make loud sounds... not a problem on a track.. but maybe a factor if you drive on the street...

although, a lot of people who run the adjustable bars run 225/245 tires... so they need a stiffer bar to control oversteer on technical auto-x's... im running 225/255... my intention was to iron out most oversteer, as im looking into changing my spring rates...not specificly for auto-x...

Well my deal for getting this is auto-x so would saving up the extra $400 for the comptech be worth it?

Assuming an AP1 on Hoosiers or Kumho V710, from what I recall on the dimensions of this bar, it will be no where near stiff enough for stock class auto-x.

For stock class auto-x, you choices are (in no particular order):
Gendron/Small Fortune Racing
Comptech 2 piece
Saner

...as per the Auto-x FAQ
