Cusco Roll Cage

Cusco Roll Cage
Well I finally decided to take the S to the next level, I am wanting to start stripping it down as I will be using it more for the track. I want a roll cage but I am looking for some stipulations as I STILL want to use my hardtop if possible. Also I do not want anything that is to much so i am leaning towards the 4 point. Anyone with experience please chime in. Oh and again my main two questions are: Can I still use my hardtop and which one would you recommend for use? Thanks again. btw i have searched just found no answers about the hardtop and roll cage working together.

First off: except in JDM-speak, a "cage" is something that surrounds the cockpit. What you are talking about is a "bar".
Secondly, since the hardtop has far fewer clearance issues than the softtop, it's not going to be an issue. Your options for bars that still allow the softtop to be used is much more limited. You didn't mention the softtop at all. Does that mean you don't care if you lose it, or does that mean it never occured to you that you might lose it?

OK, well in that case you should have no trouble with any of the off-the-shelf available bolt-in bars. The hardtop has more clearance than the softtop.
What I did was remove the softtop, and the roll hoops, and the beam that the roll hoops attach to. Then I had a custom bar welded in that took advantage of the extra height available in the hardtop. If you do that, you also lose the 3-pt belts. That's kind of a PITA if you plan to drive it in a dual-use role.

yea in some events i have a passenger and would like to be able to keep it that way. Just looking for the added support and if i decide to remove the hardtop during the event i just want the added protection and rigidity. Thanks again for your help
