The XP12's are extremely rotor aggressive, at least from my experience on the S2000. I would not expect to get much more than a couple track events out of them.
yea i have noticed, i think im goin to have to find a different pad, the Xp10s dont hold up to the track temps we see down here in florida

So it's best to completely remove the shields?

thats what i did, but then you have another problem. the lower ball joint boots and tie rod end boots crack from the heat of the rotors.

So what i did was get new ball joints and tie rod ends, and used header wrap. and so far so good.

thats the op using his brakes right!

I knew someone who used to go to the track and had s2000 stickers on his calipers that he never melted off. He wasn't fast.

Paint was G2 I think.

Saw you out there Prospect S, you were kicking my ass like I was standing still, I've got a ways to go yet...

But anyway, quick question since we've gotten on the topic. Why do people run the xp10 + xp8 combo vs xp8's or xp10's all around? The couple of times I've hit em with a pyrometer, my rears were hotter. Then again it may be that the ducting cooled them on the cooldown lap vs no ducting in the rear. I guess I wonder if the fronts run hotter even when ducted, seems like they would, but my anecdotal evidence didn't back that up. Of course, I measured at Barber which isn't hard on brakes (and following a cooldown lap) - so that could be it.
