Coolant temp while on track?
I put in Modifry's ECT gauge mod in the winter, with an alarm for when the coolant temp reaches 220 F. I spent three days last week driving Corvettes at Spring Mountain in Nevada, and noticed that one of the cars I drove went above 220 while on the track.
So, before my next track day with my S2k, I was wondering what the best temperature to set an overheating alarm, since I don't want it going off when things are normal, but I do want it going off when things aren't.

If you're talking about Pacific Raceways, I don't think we need to worry about coolant temp in this car. My AP1's 6-bar temp gauge never goes beyond 3 bars on the track. Have you ever seen more bars than normal in your AP2 gauge?
EDIT: Oops, I mean not beyond 3 bars. I've never seen 4 bars on my gauge except the time when I forgot to plug in the rad fan.

Mike has it right. I want to set the alarm to go off when something's wrong, so that I don't blow up my engine, but I don't want it going off when nothing's wrong. I'm thinking that 220 may be a bit low, so I may set it at 230.

In that case I think 230F may be a good setting. My brother's old miata with the partially clogged rad started to bubble the overflow tank quite violently at 110C (10C increment on the digital readout from the SDS ECU) and even though the situation was getting worse he never saw 120C before he stopped.
