Can we run a 275 A6 Hoosier on a 7.5" rim?

Darrin could take CS in the 2007 Miata this year -- I was convinced over the past two weekends that it is a very good car for CS. I definitely want to drive one sometime and see what kind of damage I can do to the local PAX...

Thought I would question/clarify a couple of things ... Ive not heard of anyone running a 275/295 setup on an ap2. Also, the 295 fits the solstice better than the 285 on the 8" rim according to many Solstice owners at the National Tours. Something about the way the tire beads off the rim. About the delayed response by putting a bigger tire on a small rim ... from my experience, the 275s on the 7" front rim of the CR provides much more initial bite than the 245s ever did while providing over an inch more of contact patch. Just my .02, best of luck with your setup!

Also I was curious about the 275F that you have been running. I have the A Stock Valved Konis, and I am curious if I could get away with the 275 on the fronts . I am not sure of the 04 OEM front spring rates compared to the 08 CR front spring rates.

Good stuff man! Please, keep me and/or this thread updated as you go through the season and get real test results comparing the 245 Rear to the 275 Rear. My thought is the 275 is going to be quicker over the majority of courses. I did the quick math and overall diameter change is .9", good for about a 3.5% increase in total D. I'm not sure what that exactly means in terms of gearing, but my guess is it's not as signficant as people make it out to be, and in some courses may turn out to be a gearing advantage by staying in gear longer/not tapping over the rev limiter. So good luck with the S the rest of the reason! I'm on a bit more of a budget, so it's 245/275 combo for me for the rest of the year. I'm having Bill Gendron himself do my alignment (I have the pleasure of working 30 mins from his shop.) So it will be stock shocks, Gendron Bar, and 245/275 A6's tearing up New England A stock
