Default cage construction

i have been reading about cages on here a lot. my brother is a very good welder (professional). anyways, where can i get scca sanctions on the design of the cage. i was thinking of going with 1.75" dia .120" wall DOM mild steel as this seems to be the most common and i get the general idea and rules of the cage layout. i would like to hear any input on construction of your own cage and potential issues/rule violations. has anyone fabbed their own up? thanks.

Cage design specifications are in the SCCA rulebook. Build it to spec and get it approved by a scrutineer when you do your annual tech inspection.
