How does one come to a conclusion of "well it feels like that car was down 30 hp compared to this one"? I understand the down on power statement but giving a hp estimate would take a ton of skill/knowledge. I'm assuming you made a educated guess based on what you've read.
Just giving you a hard time

hah yea well I heard they make around 170HP stock but I guess what I meant is it was a lot down - not like 10HP or whatever,
knowing my cars weight and what it makes and his cars weight and the TTD class and my TTC class power/weight rates + our laptimes and also what my car ran at TTD power/weight at that track you can kinda guestimate though
This BRZ and S2000 don't seem to be nearly as far away power wise I'm wondering if they realy get a boost from an exhaust
If you could get one to around 190HP in TTD class with a set of 225/40/17 A6's I think it would run away with it

A local autocrosser that has a frs said that someone did a test and gained 32whp from a header, exhaust, intake, and tuned on E85. If that's then thats fairly close to s2000 power levels. Hmm

BRZ
215(!?) Star Specs, square
S2kCR
255 RS3, square
Hardly fair, shouldn't they be on equal tire for a comparison?

Not exactly... Road & Track did the test and they also plus sized the wheels to 18" when they went to a wider tire.
Edmunds Insideline did a better test:

Volk TE37s, 17x8.5, 245/40 Yoko Advans AD08s. Almost exactly the same acceleration, but skidpad went from 0.89 to 1.0 and slalom from 67.5mph to 70.3mph.

215's though! I wouldn't want skinnies like that on a miata.
The S and 86 are close enough in weight and layout that I would guess the sweetspot for tire sizes will ultimately be pretty close. The 86 looks like it will have an easier time fitting larger wheels and tires (265's on 18's) than the S.
I can't believe they made the car 5 x 100 when they have all the STI parts available to make it 5 x 114.3.
Convert it! Then you'll have interchangeable wheels between your S and your 86.
