Hi Guys,
After reading this thread I am thinking the Brakeman #3 pads are the way to go. What is a good price for the Brakeman #3's? My brakes are starting to sqweal so I need them pretty soon. What is the website where I can buy them? Will they will fit stock 2001 S2000 calipers? Thanks!

Don't bother with a compromise pad imho. Buy a set of track pads and just run the stockers on the street. If you absolutely positively want to run an HPDE pad for street/light track use then try the Hawk HP Plus that I've been running with decent results. When these get replaced though it will be for a dedicated track compound to be swapped in before events.

Is there a vehicle applications list for Brakeman pads? I have Googled and come up empty. Curious if they make them for the MR2. I've been using Carbotech Panthers and while their track performance is good, the excessive dusting on the street bothers me.

I used one set of Brakeman #3s on my S 2000 last year and wasn't impressed. They dusted a lot (one reason to stay with OEM) and wore out after only 2 track events. I've since moved to the Cobalt Friction line of pads and have been very satisfied with them. These are now being sold through the marketplace, so ordering is easy.

I second the non-recommendation. My Brakeman #3s also dusted all over the place, and they wore out after just one (wet) track event and six months of commuting and autocrossing.

For what it is worth I would guess the compound of BM#3's changed somewhere along the way. A set I used late last year did not perform at the track as well as I thought they would, dusted more than I remembered, and wore faster than I expected. I have gone back to P+ pads for the track and R4S for the street.

i'm a little confused now. i guess i'm looking for a pad that will improve my overall braking on the street and will stand up to autocross use without chewing up stock rotors. if i start roadracing the s2000 then i will consider racing pads as well. maybe OEM pads will do - they are about $73 for the front set and $77 for the rears. Any better aftermarket pads for around the same price range, or maybe similar cost over service life? Thanks...

Well, we just started selling a new line of high-performace street pads from Axxis. We also sell the OEM's at a good discount from list, even more if you're an S2KI.com member.
