And I'd imagine the specific track would matter quite a bit as well.

If wanting to stay with Hawk pads, I would recommend trying out their new DTC line of pads. The DTC-60 pads have a working temp from 400-1600 F. I'm working with the Hawk rep that comes into my work and he's going to try and get them to make me a set of DTC-30 which is a 100-1200 F pad.

Absolutely. I mainly run at New Hampshire Motor Speedway (chicane/chicane), which is known to be somewhat hard on brakes, but that may be only relative to other tracks we go to.

I've also run HP+ on the S at Watkins Glen and Mont Tremblant with no problems.

I used haks with ducting and they were good for track days HPDE , For a beginner they were fine , this year I switched to r comps and xp12/xp10 . If you cant afford 30 bucks for rotors maybe you picked the wrong hobby. Dont sell your self short get the rotors at the same time from carbotech directly .
tell me where you get rotors for 30 bucks
im just looking to save some money where i can. I don't see anything wrong with that. If there's no other alternative I'll bite the bullet and buy but just looking for cheaper alternatives.

I got some xp12 fronts and xp10 rears for this season. Can't wait to compare to the xp10/xp8 combo.
I ran 10/8 with RA-1's. Now I'm on 12/10 with R6's. It didn't seem to be a huge difference because I know some of the gain came from the tire.

The other thing is Carbo's don't slam you into your windshield. They do, however, offer excellent modulation.

I just said from my experience. I over heat the front pad and turn the front rotors blue on the outside edge. Now I make brake duct which drop about 200F. So everything is ok for now.
No offense, but it isn't the stock rear pads that is overheating your front brakes.

I ran stock rears with Hawk HT-10's on A6's at Mission Raceway and the rears were overheating to the point they were chunking and turning the rotors brown. Once I switched to Hawk HP+ rears, the chunking/brown mess stopped.
