brake fluid question

brake fluid question
I have a track day coming up at the end of the month and I wanted to replace my brake fluid. I can't find Motul or other name brand, but AutoZone has DOT 5 SBF. Is this sufficient or do I need Motul, etc?

You can find Motul all over the internet. Most people go for either the Motul RBF600 or ATE Superblue because of the boiling point, both of which are Dot 4 I believe.

That's correct, DOT5 is verboten. DOT 5.1 is OK, as far as I know.
I agree with those saying "just order it over the internet". But if you can't or don't want to, it still wouldn't be a bad idea to at least make sure you have fresh DOT3 fluid.
It shouldn't be a big issue on your first few track days anyway. Most novices don't work the brakes hard enough to boil fresh OEM fluid.

I just ordered a set of Carbotech AX6's for all 4 corners and a liter of ATE Super Blue, so I'm good to go. Free shipping and no sales tax, to boot.
I'll try them at Auto-X and the track. The Carbotech pads came highly recommended from a fellow auto-xer so I'm rolling with them. Thanks all on the heads up on the DOT 5 fluid.

Off-the-shelf Valvoline, Pennzoil, or Castrol DOT4 should be fine for you.
As already mentioned, do NOT use DOT5!
