I like your idea.
I think you can improve flow a little better if you were to have a flat under tray (aluminum or plywood) and the do the same set up. You don't have to run it like a splitter, rather just make it flush with the OEM bumper profile and extend it back to the start of the "front axle" (free nasa tt mod). With this done, I feel like the airflow will be smoother underneath the front end and allow the ducts to be more efficient in catching the airflow.
Either way, id be interested in seeing some data with brake rotor temps on this setup.

One thing; wouldn't it be better to put the hole in the shield at the rotor as close to the center as possible. So the air flow goes into the center of the rotor and up through the vanes not against the rotors inside face only? Or is that as close as you can get?

That possibly may be more beneficial, but to be honest, those dust shields are a weird shape and the only flat part is right about where I cut, to mount the flange easily.
I used 2 1/2" ducting.
I followed Rob's tutorial: http://robrobinette.com/S2000BrakeDucts.htm. If you use 2 1/2" ducting you need to remove the air pump, or maybe modify the bracket at least as there is not much space for the hose.

Do you think it's possible to run a brake duct and still be able to use an AEM V2 cold air intake?
The AEM places the end of the intake right up behind the bumper on the passenger side. It would really be nice if it would work to use them both together.
