Brake Duct Kit
#1
Is any manufacturer yet offering a brake duct kit that vents to the eye of the rotor?
I remember reading about a few custom builds, including modifications to the kit offered by Bulletproof. But I'm not aware of any complete kit that will vent the air to the correct place on the rotors.

contact ben@bulletproofautomotive.com or visit the site (one of the sponsors at the bottom of hte page) - he carries a carbon fiber kit. I got to check out an earlier version on cdelena's car at TWS a few weekends ago, and I'm impressed - it gets rid of those tacky 'fake' ducts (cosmetically speaking that is).

Ben's ducts look nice, but they only seem to do about half the job. They don't carry the air to the rotor. Sure, they can be customized to carry the air there, but I was hoping for a more comprehensive solution.
Maybe King Motorsports will deliver something soon.

Mike,
i coulda sworn that MG racing posted some ducts for sale
for $185 about 2-3 weeks ago (vs Ben's $400)? You would
then need to fabricate the part from right inside the wheel
well to make the air actually hit the rotor.
Search on the group purchase section.. i am too lazy..

I just received a set of brake ducts from Giampero, they are from Jet's racing and made of carbon fiber that are similar to Ben's at Bulletproof. Question to cdelena: How the heck do you cut those vents out without messing up the front too much and what tool did you use? Thanks, I'll post picks of my install for the ducts when I began working on them.

I cut the bumper with a Dremel tool and used a flat file to even the edges. I used a hole saw to cut the wheel well liners. I used a cut off wheel on a die grinder to cut the CF ducts down, but if you have to cut CF be sure to wear a mask.. breathing that dust is very bad.

I just spoke with King Motorsports, the feeling I got is that they're still pretty far from having a brake duct kit for sale.
It seems the initial development-production costs are high, and I suppose they'd want to be sure they'd sell enough before starting a production run.
How many would be interested in a complete kit that vents directly to the eye of the rotor? I'm guessing it would be made of fiber (glass not carbon).
