Best Final Drive

If you're good at road-racing, you would keep the car above 6000-rpms at all times and would not need a final drive gear.
But I suck at the track, 4.57 gets my vote.

Wouldn't also depend on the track? More technical lower speed and I use that term lightly benefit from the 4.77, but a track that has a lot of flat out drive benefit from a gearset that delivers higher speed?
But I would tend to agree with medicalstudent on the 4.56R/57 as you get a good mix, maybe even the 4.44?

It's funny, I asked Scot (that's his member name) what he thought would be good for the track around me (VIR,Summit Point) He told me he was running 4.77's and was topping out on the front straights. He also told me that he wanted to move up to 5.10's next time. So given that piece of info I'd say 4.56's would work fine and you could probably even do 4.77's.

Need opinions for the best final drive. I plan to road race the S. I'm looking to the 4.44 and 4.57 more than anything.
I have used 4.44, 4.57 and the 4.77 at our local track, PIR in Seattle.
Each set has their good side and downside, one set is good at a certain point on the track but bad in another. Their isn't really a PERFECT gearing set for that track, that course, I'd say the best was probably 4.44.
So unless you try the gears, there isn't a perfect one.

The gearings will soley depend on the track you run.

Yeah I'm leaning more toward 4.44's just so I can still drive it on the street comfortably.
That being said who can get me the hookup on a set for cheap!?? I can get the ATS for about $700. But thats a little too pricey yet IMO.
