If you have a big enough front bar, try the 265s in the rear, you'll like it!
We thought about 265, but they are too tall. This car has so little low end grunt that we cant afford to lose any. We were using 225 front with 245 rear when we had V700 Victoracers. The 225 V710 comes within .1" of the 245 Victoracer treadwidth and overall diameter is .5" less than the 265.

Right now, our choices in 16" tires are too small, too big, or Hoosiers and my co-driver hates Hoosiers.

I drove a student's car (new MX-5) at the autocross today. The car had Hankook RS-2s mounted on 16x8" wheels. I thought they worked pretty well!

The difference in diameter between the 225 and 265 is less than 3% (thanks to Gregg Lee for actually measuring them - data!! ). That's a very small difference in acceleration and can easily be swamped by other areas of performance, such as increased cornering speeds, driver confidence, etc. Add to that the fact that you get a couple more MPH out of 1st gear and I'd call the tradeoff skewed in the direction of the 265s...

To the person who asked if you can run the 245/275 V710 combo on AP2 wheels the answer is yes. You may need to raise your ride height a bit to avoid rubbing.

Good luck!

I just bought my S a little over a month ago. I guess the previous owner replaced the stock S02's with S03's.

I've only run the S on one autocross event so far. I have a lot of setup to do for next season, just trying to plan it all now. I was shocked at the difference between the AP2 and my AP1. I could have gone about 1.5 seconds faster in a stock AP2 than my stock AP1 the way it's set up now. That sucks.

Gord has the Comptech FSB a pretty agressive alignment and V710's, and he was 5 seconds faster than me on a 75 second course.
The rears on your car probably aren't the 245ish rear section width then because they are S03's...

Could that be a reason it felt unsettled?
