Went to the dragstrip yesterday. 15.18 @ 93.7 mph. It was a hot day here in southern Mississippi - hotter than the blazes of hell (or so it seemed). I never could get below 15 secs. I launched at near 6,000 rpms. Hooked up pretty well with just a little wheelspin. On one run, I did an off-idle launch and only added 0.2 secs to my time. I'm not speed shifting. This was my first time ever to run at a strip. I practiced several times before going to the strip. Still, I thought my times were pretty pathetic. Got beat by a fairly stock Mustang GT that ran a 15.0. My S2000 has less than 2,000 miles on it. Any (constructive!) suggestions?

 

One of the guys working the track asked me why I was going so slow. He said he thought these cars would do mid 13's stock. I told him I didn't think so. How humiliating. Of course, he suggested putting it on the bottle. No thanks! I just wanted to see what it would do stock.

 

That is not too bad considering temp. & humidity in Mississippi around this time of the year. I have seen worse. I'm in Atlanta where the weather is pretty bad also. I didn't make it to the track last Friday. Maybe in a couple of weeks. I'll post my time then.

new stook, with 3,400miles 15.8 ran the light broke then said what the hell and went, after getting in my groove... 14.8; 14.5 14.4; 14.249; 14.250; 14.106 funny thing is that i was bracketing on this last run and broke a little to not bounce of the 14.2 bracket so maybe a 13.9 or 14.0 could have been made, i still came off the bracketts sucks , hope i can get to 13.8 by the 5-6k mile mark. cause hopefully by 6k my turbo will get my 12's.
