Bedding in Hawk HP+ pads
Hi guys,
I am new to bedding in pads, so bear with me here. I have a quick question regarding bedding in Hawp HP+ pads, or any sport pads in general.
Say I swap out the OEM pads for the HP+ at the track and go right ahead in using them on the track. What do I risk screwing up?
I understand that bedding the brakes allows an optimum contact between the rotor and the new pads to be made, but wouldnt a couple sessions of serious lapping take care of it? Sure, maybe the first session or two will go down the drain with poor brakes, but is this the only consequence?
Thanks in advance guys

You need to get them really hot them then let them cool off. That should take care of it.
So I dont waste my first session at the track bedding in my pads, I do 3-4 100-0 full brake stops. Then I let the brakes cool completely and after that they work great. Im not that far from some pretty remote areas so I can do this safely

I don't bother bedding pads and don't notice a difference (but that could be just me not being perceptive).

I didn't bed-in a new pad once and I experienced major out-gasing (green fade?) on my first session. Since then, I try to bed my pads in at my local mtn road.
Also of another concern is, all the instructions explain the proper procedures of breaking in a pad. However, in real life, there is no way one can do those stuff immediately after install (unless you install the pads at the beginning of a very long straight road with no traffic).
Say I had to drive 50km to a region to bed in the pads. Wouldn't this mess up the cycle already, as I already have used the brakes in mild city driving (came to complete stop, etc)

Why not just try it and see for yourself. Unless you drive like Maxrev out of the box (he only drives at max rev) I doubt you'll have a problem
