Actually, there are more clearance issues w/ the 17s because they don't have nearly enuf backspacing.
My CE28N 17 wheels don't have any clearance problems at all. No rubbing and they fit entirely within the wheel well without DIY sheet metal bending. Maybe you're thinking of CCW wheels c/w 1/4" aluminum spacers to make them fit on an S2000.
That's with 275R 245F

seriously you need to work on the memory LOL.
I had minor rubbing with ~300 slicks and chose to roll my rear fenders. But the 275 ra1s are almost an inch smaller. Furthermore I ran the the 10" rears w/ RA1s on my stock 00 s2k without rolling the rears. again I haven't run spacers for over 2 years because they also weren't needed.
You've been gone, I expect you to miss out. Welcome to 2003.

I've sold my old 18x8+51 and 18x9+63's with 225/265's and lowered with no rubbing except for knocking out fender liner clips in the front rarely, and it's lowered 1-1.5" on KW's
I called CCW today and the lady on the phone wouldn't tell me the offsets for Classic's in 18's. gonna call back tomorrow and see if someone else can give me the offsets
